There is no clear beginning or endpoint to curiosity, learning, or connection. The name Learning Circles reflects the rhythmic nature of that journey.
Our story
Learning Circles brings social-emotional learning into everyday homeschooling, weaving it naturally into the way families learn, create, communicate, and grow together. At the heart of our approach are connection, emotional intelligence, curiosity, and relationship.
For parents who want to move beyond performance and pressure, we offer practical ways to create more confidence, trust, and partnership in your family’s learning. Through coaching, creative tools, and shared experiences, Learning Circles helps you weave emotional intelligence into everyday life, so learning can feel less like something you have to manage and more like something you experience together.
Founded by homeschooling parents with professional backgrounds in therapy and education, Learning Circles grew from a belief that connection comes first. It gives children the safety and trust they need to be curious, take risks, and grow. For us, connection isn't one part of learning. It is the foundation beneath all of it.
Our Team
Sharon Ulrich
FounderSharon is a mother of four and a psychotherapist whose work centers on the connection between emotional wellbeing, relationships, and learning. Her experiences as a parent and therapist inspired her to create Learning Circles as a place for families to nurture children’s growing sense of self while staying connected through the everyday challenges and joys of learning together. With a background in art therapy, Sharon brings creativity into her work with children, teens, adults, and families, seeing creative expression as a natural way to explore feelings, build self-understanding, and make space for growth. Through Learning Circles, she offers parents practical ways to bring emotional intelligence and meaningful connection into everyday family life.
Founder Andrew Ulrich
Andrew is a father, musician, educator, and lifelong champion of creative learning. His professional experience spans music, inclusive education, school leadership, teaching artistry, and agile learning, giving him a broad perspective on how children learn, create, and find their place in a learning community. He brings that experience to Learning Circles through hands-on creativity, thoughtful learning design, and a belief that children learn best when they have room to explore, contribute, and follow their own interests. As a father, Andrew also knows the richness and complexity of learning alongside children and brings that perspective into the experiences he creates for families. When he’s not singing or playing a tune, Andrew enjoys exploring the wonders of the outdoors with his family.
