EdVentures With Andrew is a hands-on introduction to place-based learning — the idea that wherever you are is a good place to start. Over six weeks, through self-paced local quests and weekly live sessions, you'll begin to see your surroundings through a wider lens. This learning circle is designed to be cyclical — join again and again as content evolves with each participant. Flexible by design, EdVentures welcomes learners who think differently, move at their own pace, and thrive when curiosity leads the way.
I've spent years teaching and making music with young people — in classrooms, in the woods, and across a few different countries. What I keep seeing is the same thing: kids light up when they're moving, making, and connecting with the world around them — not when they're sitting still absorbing information.
My background is in music, inclusive education, and school leadership. I've worked with kids who learn in all kinds of ways, and I've seen that curiosity is the most reliable engine any learner has. EdVentures is built to run on that engine. I'll be your guide — asking questions, making connections, and helping you see that wherever you are is a pretty interesting place to start.

In today's world, the ability to learn independently and follow your own curiosity is more important than ever. Place-based learning champions that self-directed approach — wherever you happen to be. Learning through your surroundings builds the skills that matter most — curiosity, empathy, and the ability to sit with something unfamiliar. Those are emotional intelligence skills. EdVentures makes them part of every quest. Flexible, self-paced, and low-pressure — this is learning designed to work with how your brain works.
You'll embark on local quests to discover the unique aspects of your culture and community — then trace how those stories connect to the wider world. Visit your town's historical society. Find one story. See where it leads. In our weekly live sessions, we'll share what we found and dig into the bigger picture together. Sessions are low-key and conversational — come as you are.
This Learning Circle is perfect for curious teens and tweens (around ages 10-16) who are homeschooling, self-directing, world schooling, on the move, or seeking new experiences.
EdVentures was built with flexibility on purpose. If your learner is neurodivergent, twice-exceptional, anxious about group settings, or just doesn't fit the mold of traditional learning — this circle was designed with them in mind. Quests are self-paced. Sessions are drop-in friendly. There's no performance, no pressure, and no wrong way to show up. We believe emotional safety is the foundation of real learning — and that looks different for every kid.
